I think if Ty Smith makes the team he plays with Ruuta, so why not try that.

If we're doing experiments though would like to see DOC with Geno

All about the topic of this blog, they should be trying things now when there's no standings points on the line...however, I will say that my gut feeling is that a Ty/Tanger 1st pair would be disastrous haha...I've been wrong before though.

Now...if it did work and Dumo ended up with 3rd pair/top PK deployment we'd be doing really good. I do think Dumo is an excellent PKer, probably best D-man PKer on team despite his slower step last season.

Yea agreed, Doc over Cagg on that 2nd line. At some point I'd like to see Poehling play center to see if that's an option whatsoever.

If you wanna watch certain pairs/players as almost like a scout then yes. If not, most likely not.

Streaming might be the only way to watch...and I had sh!t luck with that for the Jackets game the other day...

Don’t know if it means anything, but Heinen was the only veteran forward that played in Columbus and he is not in the lineup tonight.

Would like to see smith start with Letang just to see if he can keep up with a high event hockey game but I imagine their styles would not compliment each other. Give smith and rutta heavy minutes. See what each can so.

I mean Matheson and Letang had really good moments together, it just depends on if Smith can keep up. But I wouldn't mind Smith and Rutta getting the big minutes tonight so we can see them. Then give Petts-Petry the second most. Limit Tanger.

I agree. This preseason/early in the season, I'd like to see some open auditions for Letang's new partner. I think most of us agree that Dumo isnt the guy long term (hopefully not beyond this year) so I want guys like Smith and POJ to get some minutes with him to see if anything is there.

If there is, that makes Dumo expandable for a possible hockey trade during the season.

Been reading some camp reports. Smith hasn't looked good in the D zone. He was rough in the Cbus game. Noticeably bad.

He'll be in WB for sure due to his waivers exemption.

I agree with the premise of the blog. Mix it up and experiment. Sully won't do it of course.

I agree that I think he'll be WBS as well. Why hasn't POJ been on the big roster on cap friendly? Is he actually not on the main roster?
